In this type of fitting
the underlay is loose laid up to the gripper and joined together using
single sided carpet tape.
The benefits of using an underlay are the added carpet pile protection and
comfort with reduced heat loss and sound transmission.
All Ball & Young
underlays are recommended for use in traditional stretch fitting. Underlay
is selected to meet the particular wear and comfort requirements of the
installation.
