All underlays
will reduce sound transmitted between rooms
When
considering underlays and sound the main
consideration is normally the reduction of impact
sound, the noise generated by foot traffic.
As a general
rule, underlays which absorb the greatest amount
of energy (luxury use) will be the best at
reducing impact sound.
Impact sound
reduction is measured according to
BS EN ISO 140-8
and the results are given a rating according to
BS EN ISO 717-2
Impact
sound test result.
